Examination: MRI OF THE RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT CONTRAST

CLINICAL HISTORY: 54-year-old female with a history of shoulder pain.

MRI TECHNIQUE: Sagittal PD, oblique coronal PD, T2, STIR and axial PD techniques were used to evaluate the right shoulder on a 0.2 Tesla open MRI.

MRI FINDINGS: Evaluation of STIR coronal images is technically limited. There is no fracture or osteonecrosis. The teres minor and infraspinatus tendons are intact. The subscapularis tendon is maintained. There is a near full thickness under surface defect in the supraspinatus (Coronal PD image 7/15). The long head of the biceps is in anatomic location. There is no muscle atrophy. There is minimal acromioclavicular arthrosis. Labral evaluation is limited, but grossly intact. There is minimal subcoracoid and subscapularis bursal fluid.

 
IMPRESSION:
 

Near full thickness under surface supraspinatus tear measuring 7 mm.
