Examination: MRI OF THE LEFT KNEE

CLINICAL HISTORY: 25-year-old female with complaints of pain posterior and medial aspect of knee

MRI TECHNIQUE: Axial, STIR and T2 coronal T2 sag T1and T2 sequences done of the left knee

MRI FINDINGS: There is no fracture or osteonecrosis. There is rounded high signal in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. The posterior horn and body are diminutive. The anterior cruciate ligament is not visualized. The lateral meniscus, posterior cruciate and collateral ligaments are intact. The extensor mechanism is preserved. Mild joint fluid is noted. There is evidence of chondromalacia patella with the articular cartilage at the medial facet appearing hyper intense.

 
IMPRESSION:
 

Chronic anterior cruciate ligament tear.

Likely post surgical changes in the medial meniscus, with tear/ganglion cyst in the posterior horn remanant
