Preliminary Report
 

CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis with intravenous contrast.

Findings:

Right basilar atelectasis is noted. No evidence of pneumothorax, infiltrate, or pleural effusion. There are linear hypodensities within the pancreatic parenchyma in the region of the pancreatic head, which may represent subtle laceration, with fluid interposed between the pancreas and the splenic vein (images 19-26). There is minimal free fluid in the retroperitoneum (image 24) posterior to the duodenum and uncinate process. The liver, spleen, gallbladder, adrenals and kidneys are unremarkable for trauma. There is no free air. No fracture is seen.

Impression:

Findings consistent with pancreatic injury as described. Recommend clinical correlation and follow-up.
