Summary

Comminuted distal femoral fractures are difficult problems. Newer implant design and biologic insertion techniques have accelerated the rates of union even in the most difficult of distal femoral fractures. Ease of insertion and improved fragment stability make this new design very user friendly but it was both the technique of insertion and the fragment-implant construct stability that helped this fracture heal.
