Teleradiology Solutions, a leading provider of
teleradiology services, has entered into a joint
research partnership with GE Global Research,
the centralised research organisation of the
General Electric Company to explore new
techniques in 3D imaging analysis.
According to the partnership, Teleradiology
Solutions will provide a clinical evaluation of
the latest products developed by GE Global
Research in the areas of 3D advanced
applications for Magnetic Resonance (MRI) and
Computed Tomography (CT) imaging. One area of
focus is vascular imaging, where enhanced 3D
visualisation of blood vessels would improve the
quality of healthcare by enabling doctors to
accurately diagnose and treat patients with
vessel blockages, aneurysms, and other vascular
pathologies in a non-invasive manner.
"3D post-processing is a powerful new tool for
doctors, that allows to visualise blood vessels
in the body with a high degree of clarity,
non-invasively," said Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, CEO of
Teleradiology Solutions. He further added that
many of the applications developed by the
General Electric Company in Whitefield in
Bangalore are integrated into the GE Advantage
Windows (AW) workstation and used in conjunction
with the latest versions of Computed Tomography
(CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
scanners in the US.
The three-year-old Teleradiology Solutions
certified by the Joint Commission of
Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO) is a leader in the imaging
interpretation space and provides U.S. and
Indian hospitals readings of all non-invasive
imaging studies including CT, MRI, ultrasound,
nuclear medicine studies and digitised X-rays
via remote interpretation. It also provides
sub-specialty consultations in cardiovascular
imaging to Narayana Hrudayalaya and Columbia
Asia in Bangalore.
GE Global Research is headquartered in New York
and has facilities in Bangalore, India,
Shanghai, China, and Munich, providing
innovative technology in molecular medicine,
energy conversion, nanotechnology, advanced
propulsion and security technologies.
