Preliminary Report |
|
CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis with
intravenous contrast.
Findings:
Right basilar atelectasis is noted. No
evidence of pneumothorax, infiltrate, or
pleural effusion. There are linear
hypodensities within the pancreatic parenchyma
in the region of the pancreatic head, which
may represent subtle laceration, with fluid
interposed between the pancreas and the
splenic vein (images 19-26). There is minimal
free fluid in the retroperitoneum (image 24)
posterior to the duodenum and uncinate
process. The liver, spleen, gallbladder,
adrenals and kidneys are unremarkable for
trauma. There is no free air. No fracture is
seen.
Impression:
Findings consistent with pancreatic injury
as described. Recommend clinical correlation
and follow-up.
