Bonaire - March
Bonaire is one of our favorite places to dive. Diving just doesn't get any easier than it does there. We keep our gear at the dive shop, down by the water and the reef in front of the shop is excellent. You can be sitting by the pool; decide to go diving; and in 20 minutes be on a good dive. You'd love it. We will be running 2 trips in 2009, one in March and our family trip in August. For our March trip we will be staying at the Divi Flamingo Resort. The resort is run by an old friend of mine, and I am sure she will take good care of us. The trip includes 6 two tank boat dives and unlimited beach diving. They have also offered us an addtional boat dive daily for only $50 for all 6 days. That is a pretty good deal. We also will get full breakfast daily and a rental vehicle for each 4 people. The rental vehicle is a king cab pick-up truck which is great for doing beach dives. The Divi is located right in town so we can walk to alot of good restaurants, or we can take our trucks and head somewhere else. If you have a non-diver who would like to came along, The cost of this trip is $200 less. To get details on our August trip, Click Here

You'd love it. We will be running 2 trips in 2009, one in March and our family trip in August. You can come even if you don't bring your family (or they don't want to come with you). On the August trip we will be staying and Diving with Buddy Dive Resort. Our accommodations are condos with two bedrooms, two baths, and a living room, dining room, and a kitchen. We also get a rental vehicle for each condo. It is a double cab pick up truck, which makes beach diving a breeze. The dive package includes 8 boat dives and unlimited beach dives. We have also managed to get you some special perks as part of the trip. We have FREE nitrox, and a restaurant voucher for their poolside restaurant worth up to $75.00 (50% off up to $150 worth of purchases). The great part of this trip, besides the diving, is that it is family month in Bonaire and it is a perfect time and place to take your family. They have children's programs and it may be possible for your kids to stay for free. Call me for details. The cost of this trip is $200 less for non-divers. Blackbeard's Cruise
One of the best deals in diving is a Cruise with Blackbeard's. For the price , you will have more fun adn get in more diving than you can anywhere else. Blackbeard's boats are 75-foot sailboats that depart from Freeport in the Bahama chain and ply those waters where the day boats can't reach. With 6 days of unlimited diving, you can rack up some impressive bottom time on some very nice reefs. It is important to know that the boats are sail boats and accommodations are berths, but you will have a blast. Food is good and plentiful. You can dive practicaly anytime the boat is not moving and you even get to spend a night in Bimini, mid-week. We have not set up airfare for this trip, as there are alwaays good deals around. I f you would like us to get your air, we would be happy to do it. We have only reserved half the boat, so let us know before those spots are gone.

Belize
The Great Barrier Reef lies half-way around the world. But the second longest barrier reef lies off the coast of Belize. And we are going to Belize in April. This is your chance to join us. We have chartered Peter Hughes' Sun Dancer, a luxury live aboard. This will allow us to explore the outer reaches of the reefs and atolls off Belize. Thes are places like Lighthouse Caye, Blackbird Caye, Turneffe Atoll, and the Blue Hole. It is even possible to encounter Whale Sharks at this time of year. The trip includes boat, all meals, drinks, and diving. Space is limited, so sign up now. The group airfare is higher than the current published airfare so we have just been purchasing air for divers as they sign up for the trip. You can even get you own air if you would like.

Cozumel
A perennial favorite, Cozumel offers some of the best reef diving in the Caribbean. We have been doing an October trip there for the past fourteen years. It is one of the most popular trips that we run. We will be staying again at the Reef Club, which has been totally refurbished after Hurricane Wilma. This is an all-inclusive resort that provides us with our diving, all meals, drinks, and accommodations. We also include a lobster or steak dinner at a great restaurant in town one night. And you won't even have to worry about tipping the divemaster as they will be taken care of for you as well. Rich Mampe, our trip leader,is famous at the Reef Club. He knows everyone there and they take great care of us. This is a great trip. Dive the Palancar reef and you will see why Cozumel is a major dive destination.

Nassau, Bahamas
When you need to dive but can't get a week away, come to the Bahamas for a quick weekend. This year we will be running several trips and they are sure to be a blast. As usual we will be diving with Stuart Cove. Many movies and tv shows have been shot with Stuart and his crew, including Flipper and Openwater. This trip includes 4 reef dives but other dives are available including shark dives, night dives, and wall flying (with scooters). We do not hold spots so it is important that you do not wait to make a reservation. There may be no spots left or the price could go up. So get you deposit in soon and get on one of these great trips.

Freeport, Bahamas
These women are driving me crazy. Ooops. I didn't think you were reading this. What I was going to say is that the Ladies that we dive with here at Underwater World thought it would be fun to have a Girls Dive the Bahamas Weekend. (How come I get in trouble referring to them as girls instead of women, but then they ask me to arrange a "Girls Weekend".) Well, we are currently working on a trip to Freeport, Bahamas for 5 days. We will be staying at Viva Wyndham, an all-inclusive resort. It would be a fun weekend. Barb Hayden will be leading the trip with Nancy along as "Cruise Director". Several of the girls, oops, women have already signed up. If you are interested give us a call and we will secure your spot. If you are one of the guys reading this (we won't ask why), think about what a great gift this would be for your significant other.

Cayman Brac
In addition to his famous Cozumel trip, this year Rich mampe will be leading a trip to Cayman Brac. The larger of the "Sister Islands" off Grand Cayman, Brac offers some wonderful diving. There is some excellent reef diving as well as the opportunity to dive the Russian Frigate sunk just off shore. We will be staying at the Brac Reef Beach Resort. The trip includes airfare, accommdations, six days of diving (two morning dives each day), breakfast and dinner, taxes and transfers. For an additional $330, you can get 5 days of afternoon dives, lunch daily and 3 drinks per person per night. The add-on is probably worth it. there is also a good chance that you will be able to go over to Little Cayman (The Little Sister) for a day of diving. (That is weather dependent, however.) We already have several people signed up for this trip so make your reservation soon.

Australia and Papua New Guinea
We are looking to return to Australia and PNG again in June, 2009. Although it is not their summer, it is a great time to see, snorkel, and dive with the Minke whales. We did this on our last trip there in 2004 and it was really exciting. Although you can never guarantee whales, we had at least a half dozen hanging around us when we encountered them. The way the trip works is that we would fly up to lizard island on a low altitude charter along the Great Barrier Reef, board our boat at Lizard Island, and sail and dive back to Cairns. We would then jump over to PNG and stay a week at the Tawali Resort. This is a fabulous resort on Milne Bay, built by the owner of Oceanic. Check out their web site at www.tawali.com. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you the details as they firm up.

Curacao
After many years of visiting Bonaire, some friends convinced us to try Curacao. It is the next island to the west and a little more developed than Bonaire. During the last three years George, Jeff and myself haveall taken groups there and stayed at Sunset Waters Resort. We was very happy with them and we will be returning there in November. The trip will include airfare, hotel, all meals and drinks, and diving. Because you can only get airfare 300 days in advance, We will not have firm pricing until March.

Sea of Cortez
Sea lions, manta rays, dolphins. Need I say more. This is exciting diving. As a matter of fact, I believe that the you will consider the sea lion dive one of the ten best dives that you have ever done. Add to that diving with the manta rays and maybe an encounter with dolphins (or maybe whales) and you will have an experience like we have had in the Sea of Cortez in past years. This year, We will be staying at Los Arcos in La Paz. We only have 12 spots reserved so let us know if you are interested.

Red Sea & Africa
This is an absolutely incredible trip. We have done it twice now and it is my very favorite trip overall. First, we go to Egypt and spend a week diving some of the best dive sites in the world while on a liveaboard dive boat. Then we spend another week touring the wonders of ancient Egypt; the pyramids, the sphinx, the antiquities museum, and the Valley of the Kings. Then, finally, we head down to Kenya and spend a week on a photo safari. It will knock your socks off. Lions and zebra and elephants and giraffe. It is NOT Great Adventure. It is a great adventure. We are chomping at the bit to do this trip again. Hopefully, the world will calm down in the next year or so and we can make definitive plans. Let us know if you would be interested and we will keep you posted.

* Indicates Approximate price. It is important to remember that all prices are based on double occupancy and on current airfares. Unfortunately airfares can change up until we actually purchase the tickets. (Then, of course, the airlines charge a penalty for any changes, if they allow changes). This is usually not a problem, but it can happen. Also please note that if you are signing up alone, we will try to line up a roommate for you, however, if we cannot there will be an additional charge for a single supplement. Again, this is not something under our control and we must pass this charge along. ** Plus Airfare
