Entry Point

Selecting the proper entry point is important to prevent rotation of
the nail during insertion (especially with proximal metaphyseal
fractures). The entry point should be over the midline of the
medullary canal (in most patients, slightly medial to the tibial
tubercle) and as superior as possible without causing damage to the
anterior edge of the tibial plateau.
