2. Determine wire position
Proper wire positioning follows three basic guidelines:
Use a minimum of two wires, with the greatest possihle angle between wires.
Position wires within the zones for safe pin placement (note the location of the peroneal nerve).
Position wires distal to cannulated screws and distal to the capsular attachment of the knee joint.
