The faculty for this course is composed of surgeons and operating room nurses distinguished in the fields of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.


GOAL

The goal of this course is to provide an educational opportunity for operating room personnel participating in the care of the craniomaxillofacial surgery patient. Course topics will be presented utilizing a dynamic combination of lectures and practical sessions. The hands-on practical session will provide the participants with the opportunity to take an active role in the application of craniomaxillofacial instrumentation on sawbones models under the direction of faculty lab instructors.

AO North America Foundation is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This course has been awarded 8 Contact Hours for the Registered Nurses.

This continuing education activity is approved by the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. for 7 Category 3 CE's for continuing education in surgical technology for this course.
