2002 AO ASIF HAND AND WRIST COURSES

The next AO ASIF Hand and Wrist Fracture Course is being planned for May 31 - June 2 in Miami Beach, Florida. As soon as specific details are available, they will be announced.

Instruction will include emphasis on bone and implant biomechanics, design and metallurgy, atraumatic soft tissue techniques, surgical incisions and approaches, stable fracture fixation, treatment of nonunion, corrective osteotomies, arthrodesis and rehabilitation. Participants are encouraged to bring challenging fracture problems to be included in the interactive discussions.

Enrollment in this Course is open to surgeons and residents in orthopaedic and hand, plastic, and general surgery who care for patients with hand fractures, and who are interested in expanding their knowledge, skills and judgment in selecting patients for internal fixation procedures.

This is an advanced course. It is highly recommended that you have taken an AO Basic Course or that you are familiar with internal fixation techniques gained during residency training or previous practice experience.
