Dr. Yanover’s areas of expertise are women’s and children’s health, digestive and metabolic disorders, immune enhancement, pain management, and skin care. She places a lot of emphasis on nutrition; she is great at combining herbs and formulating herbal products. She sees a lot of people with chronic diseases. Acupuncture is a large part of her practice, and she uses it for relief of stress, depression, pain, sleep disorders, and many other conditions. As a part of her practice she also does facial rejuvenation treatments using gentle microcurrent therapy derived from the principles of acupuncture. This therapy generally makes people younger and helps to get rid of wrinkles, acne, and other facial imperfections. Dr. Yanover started her healthcare training in the Ukraine, part of the former Soviet Union, in a city of Odessa. She finished nursing school in 1991 and worked as a nurse for one year in the Marine hospital department of surgical urology before she immigrated into the US. At the same time she also studied the art of massage and graduated from massage school in the same year.
She came to the United States in 1992 and attended Brooklyn college, a branch of CUNY (City University of New York) in 1993 where she studied a premedical curriculum and received her degree in Psychology. During her college career, she volunteered at the local hospitals. It was during this experience that she realized conventional medicine, as practiced in the US, was quite different from the kind of medicine she had become accustomed to when she lived in Ukraine. This remarkable contrast in practice philosophies inspired her to become a Naturopathic Physician. After graduating from Brooklyn college in 1997, Dr. Yanover attended the naturopathic medical and acupuncture programs at the distinguished Bastyr University, also know as the "Harvard of natural medicine", located in Seattle, WA. There she earned the two degrees of ND (naturopathic doctor) and MS in acupuncture. She then did her residency at the Griffin Hospital's Integrative Medicine Center in the state of Connecticut, which she graduated from in 2003. There she incorporated alternative medicine to work in conjunction with conventional medicine. At the same time she also supervised students in their clinical training at the Naturopathic School of the University of Bridgeport.
Currently she divides the time of her practice between two states, CT in Westport and NY in Manhattan.
