"The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis
This book is written by an acupuncturist for infertility patients. She explains
acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in a format that is easy to read and
understand. Randine also gives case studies and stories about her experience
treating infertility patients and the great success she has had over the years.
"Inconceivable" by Julia Indichova
This book is one woman's personal journey with secondary infertility, acupuncture
and conception. She was labeled unable to get pregnant based on her FSH levels
and dismissed by all doctors. She revamped her outlook on health care and living
and took up yoga, healthy diet and lifestyle and acupuncture--- and in the end was
able to conceive and have a baby against all odds.
"The Infertility Survival Handbook" by Elizabeth Swire Falker
This is one of the best basic books explaining the ins and outs of fertility
treatments. It is like having a conversation with a close friend. A really
really educated friend! She goes into detail all the different tests and procedures
as well as the emotional aspect. She explains the pros and cons of all choices made
such as IVF, surrogacy, donor eggs, adoption, etc. She mentions and is supportive
of acupuncture throughout the text as well. Most of my patients agree that this
was the best book for them. What is also great is that she discusses male
infertility and how to deal with your husband and his emotions and how to be
supportive of him through his journey.
"Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH
Always noted as the number one resource for a general overview of fertility,
infertility treatments and contraception. It presents the patient with knowledge
and understanding so she can know how to make educated decisions about her
health care and her fertility.
"The Web That Has No Weaver" by Ted Kaptchuk
This is a basic acupuncture text that goes into great detail to explain Traditional
Chinese Medical theory. This is for really serious learning.
