Private Dark Fiber Services
For the ultimate in security and diversity, we offer optical fiber strands in a cable for the exclusive use of our
customers. Dark fiber strands provide a number of critical benefits.
To benefit of our customer's privacy, 4Connections does not monitor traffic on dark fiber services. This
enables our customers to reach the limits of optical data flow at a fixed cost.
Security is unparalleled since our customers own and manage their own optical gear end to end. Advanced
technology has created applications that are "plug and play" which offer ease-of-use and complete control.
This, in turn, minimizes administration time.
Elimination of potential loss of future diversity due to carrier requirements for re-grooming of networks and
circuit rerouting. This avoids any compromises in the networks or the creation of future single points of failure.
Once 4Connections delivers a dark fiber service to its customer, the routes are defined and exact footages
are shared.
Our Service Level Agreement guarantees a committed path with emergency restoration. As testimony to our
24/7 service, the average 4Connections customer has experienced less than one reported outage during their
term. In addition, no customer has ever undergone more than one side of their dark fiber ring being compromised
during their entire term with us.
Fixed Rate (Add/Drop) Dark Fiber Ring Services
This service offers the advantages of scalability, complete control and strategic selection.
Both Common telecom Carrier and Enterprise end users have the flexibility of time--up to one year--to
utilize a ramp-up model which provides fixed flat rate (MRC/NRC) economics to (ADD/DROP) up to five
buildings within one mile off the 4Connections fiber optic backbone over a Dark Fiber Ring Topology. The
Fixed Rate (ADD/DROP) solution also gives customers complete control with the option to select strategic
buildings for incorporation into their RING architecture. These buildings can include such facilities as New
Jersey Carrier Hotels, Financial Exchange POPS, BCP/ISP facilities and Enterprise buildings.
Non Traditional Last Mile Access
4Connections' unique and wholly owned fiber network allows us to deliver diverse Non Traditional last mile
access. This provides fully Managed 24x7 Layer 1 Ethernet and Wavelength services to both retail Enterprise
users and wholesale Common telecom Carriers. Connectivity extends to the NJ/NYC Metro Carrier Hotels and
Financial Exchange Points of Presence (POPS).
Our Non traditional Last Mile Access also offers direct low latency point-to-point transport, eliminating
multiple buildings patches that can add latency, common points of failure and human error.
FAST Managed Services
FASTTM Managed Services offers customers a complete end-to-end managed solution over
dedicated private fibers. When a customer orders one of our FASTTM Managed Services, such as
Metro Ethernet or native Fibre Channel, all aspects of planning, engineering, deployment, management
and maintenance are handled by a 4Connections engineer.
FASTTM Managed Services can be ordered in Ethernet speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 10Gbps.
4Connections also supports custom applications that combine Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and Wavelength
transport services on a private optical mux with dedicated fibers.
Unlike traditional managed services from carriers that lease access on another carrier's network,
4Connections FASTTM Managed Services ride on our own fiber optic infrastructure, providing
