A Water Leak Can Be Costly!
Did you know you may be able to save money on your water and sewer bill?
The numbers below show what wasting water can cost you. Waiting to
stop water leaks can cost you in two ways. You first must pay for the
water wasted daily. A delay can require a more expensive repair to
the leaking fixture.

6 ways to save money
on your next water bill
- Compare bathing vs. showering for
water usage. Mark the height of water with tape during a bath. Take a
shower with tub stopper in place and mark water height with tape.
Compare the difference in water levels.
- When bathing install the tub stopper before
turning on the water. Fill tub initially with cold water. Warm by adding hot
water to achieve desired temperature.
- The difference between a five minute and a
ten minute shower could mean a savings of up to 45 gallons. Installing water
saving shower heads can help reduce your water bill since they typically
flow 2 gallons per minute.
- A dishwasher uses 3-5 times as much water
as washing dishes by hand.
- Only wash
full loads in your dishwasher. Soak pots/pans overnight to save.
- Don't run tap water waiting for it to cool
to get a drink. Keep a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator instead.
